about

So when Bucky and I first decided to go into the studio in 1999, we actually weren’t too sure what Sodajerk would sound like. Some of the songs were rootsy, some were indie. Our first session ended with 7 songs. Four of them ended up on first record “Can’t Put You Down” when we decided that y’allternative was the way to go. The other three ended up in a box somewhere. “The Slap” was a testament to how much we were listening to Chavez’s “Ride The Fader” album. Bucky nailed the guitar tone of that record and I did my best James Lo impression. The song really does rock though!
